About PCAP

Our mission is to provide a clear Palestinian American Christian voice and presence in the U.S.

Our mission is to provide a clear Palestinian American Christian voice and presence in the U.S.

Mission - We are a non-sectarian, ecumenical alliance of Palestinian American Christians seeking to provide a clear voice and presence in faith-based communities in the United States. Our inspiration stems from the Kairos Palestine document and from all faith-based communities working for peace through justice in Palestine and Israel. We believe that achieving peace requires ensuring justice and human rights for Palestinians. American churches, church bodies, and church-based organizations can and ought to play a leading role in advocating for a just peace among all people in the region.

“We say that our option as Christians in the face of the Israeli occupation is to resist. Resistance is a right and a duty for the Christian. But it is resistance with love as its logic.” - Kairos Palestine

Goals - We provide American faith-based communities with a more balanced understanding of the realities of the situation in Palestine and Israel, thereby positively influencing their attitudes and actions toward this multi-layered situation. We have five overarching goals that direct our work to assist and collaborate with these communities:

  • Creating awareness of the dispossession and oppression of Palestinians.

  • Providing speakers, literature, materials, and other resources

  • Recruiting and energizing Palestinian Americans and their organizations in the work of peace through justice.

  • Advocating for providing moral support and humanitarian assistance in partnership with Palestinian communities.

  • Supporting boycott, divestment, and sanctions initiatives.

History - Our history began with a request from the United Methodist Kairos Response Group for our help as Palestinian Christians in their efforts to move the United Methodist Church to divest from corporations that profit from the Israeli occupation. Since then we have been invited to work with Baptists, Catholics, Episcopalians, Mennonites, Methodists, Presbyterians, the United Church of Christ, and others.

We have built a solid foundation by organizing a board of directors, acquiring a 501(c)3 designation. With your encouragement and financial support, we are now ready to build a more robust, responsive, and self-sustaining organization.
