Dr. Janette Habashi is a professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Oklahoma, Department of Human Relations. Her work focuses on the inter and trans-disciplinary nature of children’s lives and well-being through social and educational strategies, working with policymakers, and building research capacity in the field. Her scholarship focuses on two areas of inquiry that are built upon each other: 1) Children’s political socialization, agency, and participation rights as articulated in the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), (2006, 2008) and 2) Children’s patterns of socialization in climate change and environmental injustice (2022, 2023). Dr. Habashi is also an accomplished author of several peer-reviewed publications and scholarly books. She has been the keynote speaker at several conferences and has presented her work at international and local conferences.
